Fredericia offers a different perspective on Denmark, away from the country's better-known cities. Founded as a fortified town in the 17th century, it is renowned for its remarkably preserved ramparts, which still encircle the historic centre today. Beyond its military heritage, Fredericia is known for its attractive waterfront setting, relaxed atmosphere and easy access to nearby Odense, birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. Visiting Fredericia provides the opportunity to discover a lesser-visited corner of a country celebrated for its history, culture and way of life.
